Johny W. Siemens

May 3, 2004

Siemens, Johny W.

1940 ~ 2004

Born in Osler, Saskatchewan April 2nd, 1940, John passed away suddenly but peacefully on Monday, May 3rd, 2004.

John is survived by his daughter Sophie, brothers Bill (Muriel, Rhonda, Douglas) and Hank (Natalie, Paula), his sisters Marie (Sherrie, Bobby) and Esther.

John joined the Canadian Airforce in 1958 for a period of 5 years where he received his training in telecommunications. This was followed by a seasonal post at the D.E.W. Line which soon instigated the love of travel. This took him to Australia and Africa between 1968 and 1971 with his best friend Morris McFadden, a significant journey that only strengthened his will to always follow his heart, whether in love or career, and follow a path that would make him happy. He fulfilled his dream in 1971 when he joined the Canadian Coast Guard, where he found his vocation and worked until his retirement at 55 years of age.

John/Dad/Friend was forever up to anything, including an Ironman. His love of running, swimming, and biking saw him surrounded by dear friends that he cherished and who will remember him for his contagious laugh and inexhaustible enthusiasm. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Friday, May 14th, 2004 at 7:00 pm at the Comox Senior’s Center, 1801 Beaufort Avenue, Comox. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Extreme Runners for a memorial in John’s honor. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to PIERCY’S - MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORIUM.
