Unsworth, John Robert

June 2, 1927 - April 9, 2004

John Robert Unsworth passed away peacefully at home with his family on April 9th, 2004 after a lengthy battle with leukemia. John is survived and will be sadly missed by Joyce, his wife of 53 years; his daughters: Janet of Comox, Debbie (Jay) of Victoria, and Diane (Wayne) of Courtenay; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his sister-in-law Dorothy Wiper of Courtenay and his brother-in-law John (Jo) Rugg also of Courtenay. He served 5 years in the Navy and 20 years in the Air Force then worked in School District 71 after retiring from the military. John was a 鈥渃haracter鈥� with a great sense of humor, He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. No service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in John鈥檚 memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, Comox Valley Unit, #102 - 1509 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 2K6.
