John was born in Campbell River on August 26, 1972. He attended school in Campbell River and graduated from Southgate High School in 1990. He met the love of his life Christina Williams and was married in July 2004. They had a son James Michael born in July 2005. He worked as a Warehouseman/Deliveryman for Sears/Parker Appliances in Courtenay for 25 years.
He was predeceased by his mother Frances Beston in 1992. He is survived by; his wife Chris; his son James; his father Michael; his brother David (Carla); nieces Annette and Veronica; nephew Joshua; and his sister Catherine (Willie).
He was a loving husband and father.
