In Loving Memory ~

We sadly announce the passing of our sister and aunt on January 31, 2024. Joan was born on October 18, 1955 in Victoria, BC to Eric and Mona Greenwood.

She is predeceased by her mother, Mona (nee Mayhew) in 1975 and father William Eric Greenwood in 2012.

She is survived, loved and missed by her loyal dog Gracie, sisters Irene (husband James) and Ann (husband Michael), and nieces, Jessica, Claire, Louise, Sara and Julia.

Joan embraced a variety of careers during her lifetime including secretary, fisherwomen, dental assistant, horticulturalist and dog groomer. Her greatest loves included building her own home and establishing her own dog grooming cottage and home-based business.

Joan's creative talents and attention to 'digging deep on the details' shone through in most every project she undertook including sewing, crochet, crafts, painting, poetry, landscaping and woodwork.

In her retirement years, she found great pleasure working on her home and spending quality time on the trails of Seal Bay park with her beloved Gracie.

A family graveside service will be held in the Spring at Royal Oak Burial Park.

A celebration of Joan's life will be held later in the year, date and time to be announced.
