It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Annette "Nettie" Girardin on October 25, 2023, in Victoria, British Columbia. Born on October 5, 1961, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Annette's vivacity, spirit, and boundless love touched all who had the privilege to know her. A beacon of strength, resilience, and compassion, Annette's life was a testament to the profound connections she cultivated with her loved ones. Her laughter was infectious, her guidance invaluable, and her love immeasurable.

She carried with her the essence of the Maritimes, a steadfast anchor to her heritage, and the serene beauty of Nova Scotia's shores.

A devoted wife, GiGi, stepmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend Annette's dedication to her family was unwavering. Her love story with her cherished husband, Thomas, was one for the ages, filled with countless memories, adventures, and moments of tenderness. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter.

In addition to her immediate family, Annette leaves behind a tapestry of friends, extended family, colleagues, and acquaintances, all of whom were touched by her grace, warmth, and generosity of spirit. She will be remembered not just for the milestones of her life but for the everyday moments鈥攖he gentle smiles, the comforting words, the shared joys and sorrows.

The Girardin family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A private service will be held in Youbou, BC, followed by a celebration of Annette's life at 40 Knots Winery in Comox on November 26th, 13.00-16.00.

A follow-on service will be scheduled in the new year in Nova Scotia.
