Jean is survived and will be sadly missed by her son David McComb, her daughters; Karen Day, Lorrie Damron and Kathie McComb, her 7 grandchildren and her brother Jim Wadsworth. She did a lot of volunteer work, both here and in the United States. Jean worked for 2 days a week for the Comox Valley Food Bank and served as president of Adopt-a-Family in Bradenton, Florida for many years. A university graduate with an entreprenurial spirit, she ran many successful businesses and spent her entire life working, well into her retirement years. She was an avid and very successful investor, not only for herself, but with her children in their investment club as well as looking after separate investment accounts for all seven of her grandchildren. Until very recently she played tennis and golf and went line dancing every week. She loved crosswords, knitting, murder mysteries and jazz music. Jean was a vibrant, intelligent, independent, interesting and hardworking woman who was always in control of her destiny. She was a real inspiration and will be missed terribly. A Memorial Service will be held in Thunder Bay on August 31st, 2005. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Comox Valley Food Bank.
