Jane Logie
Jane Logie, aged 68, passed away on June 24, 2003 in her Chilliwack apartment, after a long, courageous battle with a painful arthritic condition. Born August 8, 1934 in Leeds, England, Jane Parrish emigrated to Courtenay, B.C. with her family when she was in her early teens. Jane lived and worked as an elementary school teacher in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Rhodesia. She taught school in Courtenay, Kelowna, and Chilliwack and then left teaching to become a professional actor, working in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton until her retirement to Chilliwack in 1994. Jane was well known in both Courtenay and Chilliwack for her involvement in community theatre as a director, actor, singer, choreographer and drama teacher. She will always be remembered for her energy, her talent and her creative ways of loving her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her brother, Michael Parrish, sister-in-law, Cathy Parrish, son, Kevin Ault, daughter-in-law, Carol Ault, daughter, Kerry Cooper, granddaughter, Jennifer Ault and grandson, Trevor Cooper and a host of loving friends and family.
A Memorial Service for Jane Logie will be held in Chilliwack on July 2, 2003. Jane has asked that no flowers be purchased for her funeral and that instead, donations be made to The Actor’s Fund of Canada, 260 Richmond Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 1P4.
