James William Leniuk

LENUIK - James William of Comox, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 29th, 2004, with his family by his side, following a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by his wife Freda; parents William and Margaret as well as brothers Rudy and Lorne, Jim is survived and will be lovingly missed by his daughter Judy (Ross); son Bill (Sandra); granddaughters Jacqueline and Julianne; sisters and brothers Mary, Johnny, Stella, Art, Angie, Bernice, Jerry, Diane, Elda, and Gail, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He moved from his native Saskatchewan in 1951 to Prince Rupert, where he married Freda in 1959 and worked for Prince Rupert Grain Elevators for 36 years, before moving to the Comox Valley in 1992.

A very active person, Jim enjoyed carpentry, baseball, bowling, fishing, curling, gardening and cooking in his leisure time.

A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, September 2nd at 2:00 p.m. from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, followed by fellowship and refreshments in “The Garden Room and Outdoor Patio” of the funeral home.
