McMullen, James “Jim”

Passed away peacefully at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria. Jim was predeceased by his second wife Kathleen Margaret Reilly; his parents John and Kathleen McMullen; and his sister Mary. He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his sisters: Kathleen (Alan) Evans of London, ON, Vi Krakona of Vancouver; and children: Laura (Paul) Johnson, Michael (Cindy) McMullen, Beverly Ann McMullen; grandchildren: Amy and Brian Johnson and Robert McMullen; stepson Glen (Leanne) Freeman; step-grandchildren: Kyle, Jason, and Taylor Freeman. Jim served with the R.C.A.F. from 1954 to 1977 and was stationed at C.F.B. Comox for 10 years prior to his retirement. He then joined the B.C. Forest Service which led to his own logging business. Jim was a member of the Branch #160, Royal Canadian Legion, Comox and in his leisure enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, fly tying, hunting, reloading ammunition, target and skeet shooting. Viewing and visitation for family and close friends will be held on Monday, March 29, 2004 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1101 RYAN ROAD. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place at ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH NO. 160, 1825 COMOX ROAD, Comox on Monday, March 29, 2004 at 2:00 pm. If friends so wish, donations in Jim’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, BC V9N 7Z8, The Kidney Foundation of Canada BC Branch, #320-1600 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6J 9Z9 and to Comox Valley & District BC SPCA Branch, Box 1284, Comox, BC V9N 7Z8 would be appreciated.
