1917 - 2005
Jim passed away on June 9, 2005 at age 87. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Joan in 1987 and is survived by his sister Jessie, foster son Alex (Janice), grandsons Aaron and Chris, his nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jim was a long time resident of the Comox Valley who was well-known and respected as the owner of the Texaco service station until 1985 and for his community involvement through the FOE and Rotarians. Jim was an active sportsman, outdoorsman and hobbyist. Jim will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for his kindness, his honest and straightforward approach to life and for his keen sense of humour.
On June 15th, 2005 a viewing will be held at 10:00am. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00am followed by a reception, all at Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home, cremation to follow. Jim’s family would like to thank Dr. Woldnik and all of the staff at Oceanview Wing ECU, St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care of Jim while he was a resident there. Special thanks to friends Dave, Charlie, Peggy and Ace for being with Jim during his final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay.
