Salson, Irvin John
Irvin John Salson passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, 2003 at the age of 93 years. He is survived by his only daughter Brenda Brownlee of Courtenay, partner Ed Zerkee, and grandchildren Michael and Mesha. Irvin moved to the valley 11 years ago and felt like he had found paradise. He spent most of his time in his big garden, enjoyed playing chess, and the Adult Day Program in Cumberland, particularly the Art Program.
We would like to thank the staff at the Cumberland Lodge for the past ten years of genuine caring, “Guys, you are truly special people.” And then there’s the chess club at the Filberg, especially Doug Smith, who gave my father many years of chess-bliss. And to Dr. Brown for all his years of care and patience.
A funeral was held in Toronto, ON on Sunday, May 11th, 2003 where he was buried next to his wife Helen. Piercy’s Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
