October 18, 1932 - April 4, 2024
In loving memory ~
On April 4th, 2024, Iona Campagnolo (née Hardy) passed away. Beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Born Iona Victoria Hardy (October 18, 1932), she was predeceased by her brother Harold and sister Marion. She leaves her brother, John (Margaret) Hardy; her two daughters, Gianna (Raymond) Logan and Jennifer Campagnolo; her three granddaughters Kim, Kate, and Chloe; three great-grandchildren Logan, Carmen and Austin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest love.
Iona was an extraordinary gardener, a great cook, and a lifelong active member of both her local community and the national political community. Iona loved the Courtenay-Comox Valley where she made her home for more than 20 years.
Iona had the love and admiration of her close friends and all who met her. She will be remembered as a champion and role model for many.
In lieu of a service, the family is encouraging people to remember Iona in their own way.
Donations may be made to the scholarship in her name at the university of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) for which Iona was the founding Chancellor. The Chancellor Iona Campagnolo Memorial Scholarship at https://www.unbcgiving.ca/
