In Loving Memory ~

Our hearts break to announce the peaceful passing of Ingrid Watermann in the early morning hours of January 6th at the Aitken Community Hospice, surrounded by her family and friends after a year-long battle with glioblastoma.

Ingrid was born on August 9/1974 to Ulrich Watermann and Anita Watermann (nee Roemer) in Georgetown, Ontario.

After graduating Georgetown Highschool and a change of heart from the Environmental Sciences program at Guelph University, Ingrid went on to complete her Massage Therapy Diploma Program at ICT Kikkawa College in Toronto.

Ingrid, together with her husband, Richard Mravik, moved to British Columbia and settled in Courtenay. Ingrid became well known in the community as owner/operator of I Day Spa in Courtenay. She then moved her operations to Comox and established Body Craft Therapeutics, Comox Valley's first green and organic day spa.

Ingrid is survived by her husband, Richard Mravik, father Ulrich Watermann, mother Anita Watermann (nee Roemer), sister Rita Watermann, nieces Brenna and Leah Gibson, her extended family in Germany comprising of uncles, aunts, and cousins, and her beloved cat Koby and dog Poppy.

Ingrid's family will be eternally grateful for the incredible love and support received by Ingrid's dear and dedicated friends here in Courtenay and beyond, as well as her healthcare team, her palliative care nurses, and the amazing team at the Aitken Community Hospice.

Ingrid was also supported by her fellow members of the Toshikan Traditional Karate Club and Kobudo under the direction of Sensei Mac Newton. The club raised funds to help support Ingrid's GoFundMe for cancer treatment. Ingrid was proud to be a member of this club and we were very honoured that the sensei and club members came to visit Ingrid at the hospice.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service for family and friends to come and pay tribute to Ingrid's life will be held in the spring of 2024 with details to follow. In the interim, please light a candle and share a memory of Ingrid at Dignity Memorial.
