In Loving Memory ~
Helen Schmuland, age 96, passed away peacefully April 19, 2023. She was born April 16, 1927, in Plum Coulee, Manitoba. She married Fred, March 5,1949 in Vancouver and moved to Campbell River shortly thereafter.
Mom is survived by her husband, Fred; her children Larry (Maureen), Diana (Jim), her brothers, Harry, and Ed Epp; her grandchildren, Stephen (Ikumi), Lauren (Matt) and Jill (Mike) and her great grandchildren, Linden, Abbie, Aiden, Myla, and Maddi.
Mom was proud of her affiliation with the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She and dad were dedicated members and enjoyed the many opportunities offered to them including many road trips with REAC.
Being a part of such a wonderful organization whose focus is on giving back to the community warmed her soul. She relished in contributing to the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and was well known for her contributions to the many events catered by the Eagles.
Mom's passion in life was her family, her garden, and her creative spirit.
She was fortunate to have spent her final years at Evergreen Seniors home where her passions continued to be nurtured. We are so grateful for the amazing care, love and support she received each day by all the staff. She knew she was loved.
A private gathering will be held at a later date as per Mom's request.
