Harry Frame

Harry Frame passed away on December 16, 2002 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, B.C. Harry was born in East Kilbride, Scotland on March 26, 1913. He came to Cape Breton as a youngster with his family and started work as a miner there at the age of fourteen. Following that he worked in the mines in Corbin, BC. He moved to Comox Valley in 1936 and worked in Number Eight Mine until its closure in 1953.
In 1939 Harry wed Marion White of Bevan. They had two sons: Neil and Bruce. After Number Eight closed, Harry was manager of Tyee Freight (Allied Moving) until 1964. The Frames then purchased Willemar Grocery, which they operated until their retirement.
Harry was an avid fly fisherman and a talented singer and guitar player who loved his music. He enjoyed carpentry and being with horses but he mostly savored the company of his grandchildren.
Harry was predeceased by his son, Neil, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by Marion, his loving wife of 63 years, his son, Bruce, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends.
