Harold passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at St. Joseph’s ECU, surrounded by his loving family. Harold was born in Bassano, Alberta and moved to the Comox Valley in 1914.

Harold is predeceased by his Mom and Dad, brothers Aubrey and Jack; he is survived by sisters: Dorothy Thompson, Ruth Robertson, and Eleanor Latour; and will be lovingly missed by his wife of 67 years Elsie; children: Larry, Betty Lou, Ron (Deb) of Courtenay, BC, Ken (Susan) of Langley, BC; grandchildren: Cheryl, Corinne, Kari, Kevin, Erin, and Ashley; great grandchildren: Amanda, Selena, Sarah, Jayden, and Austin.

Harold began working at a very young age and spent his career as a logger where he retired in 1977 as a scaler. Some of Dad’s favorite pastimes were golfing, curling, and hunting, he was a founding member of the Courtenay Fish & Game Club since 1936. He was also an avid nature lover and enjoyed spending time in his garden and many years camping with friends and family. Dad’s family was most important to him, some of the fondest memories his grandchildren will have are the special times spent camping, fishing & playing crib.

Elsie and children would like to give a very special thanks to all the nurses, staff & volunteers in the Ocean View Wing at the Extended Care Unit, the kindness and loving support you gave to Dad will always be remembered. Also, thanks to Dr. Miller for the care he gave to Dad.

A Celebration of Life for Harold will be held at the Courtenay Fish & Game Club at Comox Lake on Friday, September 3rd from 1:00 - 5:00pm.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to PIERCY’S - MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORIUM.
