Harold Leslie Hickford

May 21, 2003

Harold Leslie Hickford passed away peacefully on May 21st, 2003, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Les was born in Port Alberni, BC on March 12th 1931 and moved to Fanny Bay, BC in 1990. He will always be remembered as a kind and generous man by his loving wife Lil (Stinker), of 52 years, his four children, Larry (Deb), Karen (Greg), Joie (Paul) and Leisa (Rick). Les was a wonderful grandfather to Amy (Dylan), Joel, Kari-Lynn (Kevin), Jeremy, Bronwyn, Reg, Merissa, Catherine, Melanie, Stacie, Sarah, Elizabeth, George, Caleb, Taryn and Alayne, and he enjoyed his greatgrandsons Micheal and Nicholas. He is also survived by his brother Gerry, sisters-in-law Clara, Fleurette (Bob), Bobbi, Marlienne and Pat, and his cousin Pat. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Helmer and staff, the pharmacist and staff at Shoppers Drug Mart and the Home Health Care nurses who helped ease Dad’s last days. We appreciated the wonderful words of support from all those around us. Les’s commitment to boat recreation, camping and the Alberni Valley Search and Rescue will always be remembered. There will be no service or flowers by request, and if desired, a donation in Les’s name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes or The Lung Foundation. A celebration of Les’s life will be held at his home, 7474 Yake Road, Fanny Bay, on Monday May 26th, 2003 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
