Harold Burns “Bud” Petersen

1922 ~ 2004

Bud passed away at St Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, Friday January 16th having lost his battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Anne; children: Elaine (Laverne) Plevna of Ont., Chuck (Deb) of Comox, Doug (Dawn) of Salmon Arm, BC, Glen, of Campbell River, Lynne (Larry) of Comox, Rick of Courtenay, Ken of Courtenay, Karen of Courtenay, grandchildren; Shari, Brett, Brad (Lana), Kim (Leon), Tracey (Ryan), Eric, Shaun, Krystal, Jennifer, Cheryl, Katelyn, Robert, Gregory. great-grandchildren; Emily, Nathan, Amanda, Oliver and Taylor. Brother: Richard of Edmonton, Sisters; Helen of Kelowna and Joan of McLure.

Bud was born in Port Arthur, Ontario and the family lived in various locations across the country finally settling in Comox where he spent the last 35 years. During this time he spent time in the Armed Forces and was a WWII vet. Bud was known by a lot of people in the area. He always found time and loved to chat to anyone and had his flyin’ buddies and his coffee drinkin’ buddies.

There are many evidences of his woodworking abilities in many homes in the area. Bud had an outrageous sense of humor as witnessed by anyone who knew him which lasted to the very last minute of his life.

At Bud’s request, there will be no services. He would just want to say “So Long” to family, buddies and acquaintenances.

The family of the late “Bud” Petersen would like to thank Dr. Bowler, Dr. Howard, the Paramedics, Fireman, St Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room Staff and nurses of the 3rd Floor for their care of our Dad and husband during the last months. An extra special thank you to Sandy Nyquist for your compassionate care to Bud and those of us who were there.
