Lanyon, Greg
Aug 29, 1945 - Mar 24, 2005
Passed away suddenly of an
aortic aneurysm at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Comox in the early
hours of March 24, 2005.
He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Verna Lanyon and is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jan, and his two sons Winston and Mitchell (Lisa), as well as his grandchildren Chad and Krystiana, his brothers Lorne and Alan (Susan), his nephew Spencer in Courtenay and his other nieces and nephews in Britain, and his many cousins in BC and Alberta. He will also be sadly missed by his uncles George (Cathy), Don (Bev), Bud (Barbara), Cyril (Marion), Percy (Donna), and aunts Gladys and Jean Knight.
Greg had many interests and occupations throughout his life including those of a devoted husband and father. He loved his job as Employee Relations & Safety Manager at OK Industries doing his utmost to ensure that all the great people who work there were kept safe. Much of his spare time was spent in his garden tending his roses and fruit trees and growing enough vegetables to feed his family and his many friends. His penchant for growth extended into his business life as well, establishing a successful cinnamon roll shop, Cinnamon Plus, in Driftwood Mall. He loved to see the fruits of his labour being enjoyed by those around him.
His family would like to extend a most heartfelt thank you to St. Joseph’s emergency staff for their excellent care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at 1:00 pm at the COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Greg’s name to the Comox Valley SPCA, Box 1284, Comox, BC V9N 7Z8 with appreciation.
