George Thomas Field of the Comox Valley passed away peacefully on April 3, 2003, after a year long fight against lung cancer. He is survived by his second wife of 6 years, Peggy, and his children Terri, Janet, Karen and Greg. He was predeceased by his first wife of 43 years, Edith, in 1995. George moved from Alberta to the Comox Valley in 1960 and settled in Kye Bay. He had been active in the Lions Club, Courtenay Gem and Mineral Club, the Comox Valley Amateur Radio Club (VE7 DCU), the Provincial Emergency Program, and the Ocean Waves Square Dance Club. In 1996 George married Peggy Luck; they enjoyed 6 years of traveling and dancing together. A gathering in George’s memory will be held at the Fallen Alders Hall, 3395 Royston Road, on Tuesday, April 15, from 1 to 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in George’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. George’s children and Peggy would like to thank all those who supported him during his illness, especially the Home Care nurses and workers. He will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
