Florence Beatrice Mae Campbell

Campbell - Florence Beatrice Mae of Comox, formerly of Vancouver, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Thursday, February 28, 2002, age 87.


Florence was predeceased in 1950 by her loving husband, F.H. (Bill) Hoadley when she was a young mother. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Dr. A.J. (Al) Cook and her third husband and old friend Alan Campbell.


Florence is survived by her sons and their wives, Frank and Norma Hoadley of Pitt Meadows and Bruce and Dale Hoadley of Comox; by eight grandchildren; Lynn (Dan), Laura (Marc), Leslie (Steve), Bill, Brian (Deb), John (Sue), David (Victoria), Mark (Sherri); by her five great-grandchildren: Maria, Shelby, Alison, Madeline, Kate; and by her sister-in-law Joan Hoadley, niece Barbara and nephew David of Saltspring Island.


Florence was born in Aiyansh, B.C. in 1915, one of three children of John and Mae (nee: Seely) Studdy. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, John and sister, Lois. During her life, Florence lived and worked in many parts of British Columbia. She retired from the Federal Civil Service in Vancouver and spent her early retirement years in the lower mainland. She moved to Comox in 1996 and enjoyed her quiet, independent life in this community. Cremation will be followed by interment in Burnaby. Family and friends will be notified of memorial service arrangements. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to the C.N.I.B. (Macular Degeneration Research), 1893 Beaufort Avenue, Comox, BC V9N 1S3.
