In loving memory ~

Eugene Cot茅 95 years old, died peacefully in his sleep on the 10th of August 2024 at Comox Valley Seniors Village in Courtenay, BC with his wife Cecile and daughter Michelle by his side.

Eugene was born May 28th, 1929, in Dunrea Manitoba, he was the 2nd of 7 boys to Joseph and Cyrilla Cot茅.

He grew up on the farm, met his wife Marie Cecile Elise Jacob in 1954 at the Royal Bank in Saint Rose MB, where he was part of a road construction crew.

They married on April 14th, 1955, and welcomed 4 children Terri (Jim), Daniel, Mona and Michelle and moved to the Comox Valley in 1965.

Eugene continued road construction with Crown Zellerbach until retiring in 1990.

Eugene was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus at Christ the King Catholic Church.

He lived for family, fishing, camping, gardening and travel...across Canada, USA, Mexico, Latin America and Europe. Curling was a sport/hobby that he and his wife Cecile enjoyed playing together. Trips back home to Manitoba to help family with the yearly harvest was a must. Eugene also loved carpentry/woodworking and took pride in building his family's home in Courtenay. Family gatherings, traditions and special occasions were highlights of his life.

Eugene has 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pre-deceased by his son Daniel, parents and all his brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 20th from Christ The King Catholic Church. Internment followed at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
