April 4, 2005

Cheetham - Ethel Gladys (nee: Beeman)

August 5, 1923 - April 4, 2005

Gladys passed away peacefully surrounded by love, laughter and tears with her family by her side. Gladys was predeceased by the love of her life, Harley, her parents Elry and Ethel Beeman (nee: McGregor) and her six siblings: Dorothy, Fred, Bill, Harry, Cliff and Evelyn.

She leaves behind her son Dan (Kathy) Cheetham and daughter Sandy (Mike) Schultz; step-daughters: Gloria Read and Sylvia Springer; grandchildren: Glen, Ken, Jay, Kelly, Jenny, Danny, Megan and Nick; great-grandchildren: Emily, Samantha and Charlie; many of her nieces and nephews; her great friends at the Cumberland Adult Day Program and her special friend Verna. She will be especially missed by her best friend, her dog, Shadow.

Thank you to Dr. Bogue and Dr. Hersleman and the cool, wonderful, supportive nurses on the third floor of St. Joseph’s. Also our thanks to Kathy, the ever-patient pharmacist, at Save-on-Foods. Also thank you to Adam and his family for all their help.

Respecting Glady’s wishes, there will be no service, but rather a celebration of her life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted by the Cancer Society in honour of her brother Cliff.

Gladys was known for her tenacity, determination and her strength to cope with all of life’s hurdles. She is an inspiration to us all. Her last wish was to go home to her Harley.
