LATIMER, Escar David John
Oct 13, 1930 - May 25, 2005
Passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness with cancer. He is survived by his wife Joan of 50 years, son Eric, daughter Karen, grandsons Joel and Wayne, granddaughters Haley, Melissa and Dustin Ann, his brother Mervin and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Escar was predeceased by his son Wayne on April 27th, 2005, both his parents and a sister. Escar was born in Rutherglen, Ontario. He moved to Virgina town at a young age with his family where he grew up and did his schooling. He met and married his wife Joan in 1954. He moved to Manitouwadge, Ontario in 1961 where he worked for Geco Mines as an electrician until his retirement in 1991, moving to Courtenay in 1992. He was a trapper for many years and loved fishing, hunting and camping. He will be sadly missed by all family and friends. Thank you to Dr. Millar and Dr. Gornall and Nurse Lynda for the excellent care you gave Escar. Also thank you to Piercy’s Funeral Home. It was Escar’s wish for no service. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
