In Loving Memory ~
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Rogers on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Lee passed away peacefully in Courtenay surrounded by his loving family.
Lee is survived by his wife, Sue, and their two daughters, Laura (Bruce) and Deborah (Ross), his five grandchildren Melissa (Dylan), Lee (Elisa), Chelsea, Jasper and Rachel and his three great grandchildren, Riley, Logan and Emily.
Lee, born in Fielding, New Brunswick, led a life filled with interesting stories - stories that were always a pleasure to listen to as he recounted them with a chuckle and a smile. Lee and Sue arrived in the Comox Valley in 1973 with Lee's posting by the Canadian Armed Forces in which he served in the Air Force for 25 years (1958 - 1982). He then transferred his electronic skills to business with Comox Radio and TV Ltd which he ultimately acquired and ran until 2001.
Lee was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Courtenay for over 34 years only stepping away a month before his death. He could be regularly found most mornings 'solving the world's problems' at the A&W with his coffee group. He was a man who chose his words sparingly - words which always carried much weight. He will be both missed and fondly remembered.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Christ the King Parish, 1599 Tunner Dr, Courtenay, which will be preceded by half an hour of music. The procession to the Courtenay Civic Cemetery, 4768 N Island Hwy, will commence immediately following the Funeral Mass. All are welcome to come pay respects. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in memory of Lee to the Kiwanis Club of Courtenay.
Lee was a man always guided by logic but he
will be remembered for his compassion and wit.
