Hall, Eric Arthur Hennis
July 21, 1924 - July 29, 2003
Eric passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Tuesday. His three daughters were blessed with his acknowledgement of their presence on Monday. Eric was born in Esquimalt, the youngest of five children. He was predeceased by his wife; Molly in 2000, brothers and sisters; Jack, Harold, Elsie, and Marjorie. He is survived by 3 daughters; Margaret (Lawrence) of Newcastle, N.B.; Linda of Kamloops, Connie (Kathy) and grandchildren Nicolas and Darren of Courtenay. Eric enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He especially liked to spend time with his family at home, on camping holidays, on Sunday picnics, drives, fixing and making things. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, watching the eagles and other birds, and handyman activities of all sorts (mechanics, electronics, carpentry, etc.). He especially enjoyed his retirement years at Little River. Eric spent 34 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, initially in aircraft maintenance and repair and later in administration of tradesmen. He attained the rank of Master Warrant Officer. Postings took him and his family to Tacoma, U.S.A., Montreal, P.Q., Trenton, ON., Greenwood, N.S., Gimli, MN., and Comox BC. Whereever his posting or detachment found him, Eric always was interested in seeing the sights and beauty that the location had to offer. Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 Ryan Road. Ashes will be sprinkled at Little River by the family. If people wish, donations made in Eric’s name to St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Ave., Comox, B.C. V9M 1P2 would be appreciated.
