Wittkowski, Erhard
Erhard Wittkowski passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox on Saturday, August 30th, 2002, aged 76. Pre-deceased by his father Heinrich Wittkowski, his mother Emilie Lau and his brother Berthold Wittkowsi, he is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughters Marianne Amundson of Courtenay and Barbel “Barbara” Zumpand and husband Fred of Penticton; grandchildren Sholem A. Ewert and Cedar J. Ewert, both of Courtenay; brother Ludwig “Lloyd” Wittkowski and wife Lynda of Terrace and nephews and nieces David, Daniel, Grace and Annie. Erhard served with the German army during the Second World War, then working in forestry following his discharge. He moved with his family to Canada in 1954, settling in Victoria and working in construction. Erhard enjoyed Victoria where he lived for years, spending every spare minute in his garden. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Viewing and visitation will take place from the CHAPEL of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, Courtenay on Friday, September 6th from 12 noon till 2 pm when Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Timothy Rumsch, followed by interment at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
