Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan in the presence of her loving family. Beloved mother of Laureen (Ken) Cochlan, David (Noreen) Galeazzi, Ray Galeazzi, Cherolynne (Bob) Behan and Jan (Neil) Sanders. Beloved grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister Myrtle McKay and several nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her mother and father; first husband Dorino Galeazzi and second husband William Nairn; two brothers Art and George; three sisters Myra, Elizabeth and Lora and great-granddaughter Cristie. Emily worked many years as a cook in different logging camps all over the Island and some cafes. She lived and breathed for her bridge games. Emily was an artist in her own right. Her love for crocheting will live on for years to come. All her children have beautiful tableclothes and doilies. The last tablecloth was completed in early December. Services for Emily will be held at a later date for her friends and family under the direction of Comox Valley Funeral Home & Crematorium, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay. As expresssions of sympathy donations may be made to the Cowichan District Hospital, 4-466 Trans Canada Highway, Duncan, BC V9L 3R6, with appreciation.
