Elsie, the daughter of Alfred Harry and Mary Ellen Whitcher passed away at Glacier View Lodge Nov. 10, 2003, at the age of 101. She was predeceased by her husband James Edward who died December 24, 1994. She had three brothers: George, Lester, and Irvin, who also predeceased her. She leaves behind, her three sons: Russell (Kay), Gerald (Marge), Jim (Evelyn); and 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Elsie was born at Canyon City, Colorado. The family moved to Vermilion, Alberta where she attended school. She took up employment at the post office, then met and married James Edward Miller. They eventually took up farming and continued farming until retiring and moved to Comox in 1983.

The family wish to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care that was provided to her by the staff at Glacier View Lodge over the past eight years.


PARKER - Frederick Charles, a resident of the Comox Valley since 1947, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years on November 5th, 2003. Predeceased by his wife Veronica; he leaves his three sons: Don (Nettie) of Sorrento, Rick (Darlene) of Fanny Bay, and Victor (Shirley) of Nanaimo; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as many wonderful neighbors. Freddie will be missed for his zest for life and his wonderful sense of humour. A family gathering was held at his home on November 11th, 2003. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME.
