November 9, 1944 - August 25, 2024

In loving memory ~

It is with much sadness, but loving memories, that we announce the passing of Elizebeth Allan McRae.

Elizebeth, better known as Beth, was born November 9th, 1944 in Victoria, British Columbia. Upon graduation from Mt. Doug High School, she was accepted into the Royal Jubilee nursing program and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1966. After the completion of her nursing training, and newly married, Beth moved to the Comox Valley and fell in love with the community.

Working for several years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, she 'retired' from professional nursing to raise her two children and enjoy time with friends and family in Seal Bay. While she did not return officially to nursing, she would spend the remainder of her life sharing her nursing knowledge to assist those around her.

Beth loved her time camping around North America in the family's travel trailer and exploring the waters around Vancouver Island. Nothing made her happier than a good road trip to see what was around the next corner and when the road ended, taking a trail to see what was just a little bit further.

Beth is survived by her daughter Katie, son Don(Deanne), granddaughters Gracie and Chloe, her sister Margaret(Allen)...and her cat Frankie Sinatra. She was a proud and independent person, always following politics and current events, she knew what was happening in the world and loved discussing the topics of the day.

She passed away peacefully in the Comox Valley Hospital after a short illness on August 25th, 2024. Her family wish to extend special thanks to all the hospital staff who were generous with their time and supports. As a former nurse, she would have been proud of their professionalism and compassion.

With her practical and always organized way, at Beth's request, there will be no service but we ask those who knew her, to donate some time or resources to a charity of choice that assists those in need.
