WOOD - Edgar Canning, “Ed” “Woody” of Comox, died suddenly at Victoria General Hospital on Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 as a result of a stroke. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Lucie; sons Pierre (Amy) of Fort McMurray and David of Comox; daughter Michele (John) of Victoria; grandchildren Gabriel and Ria Underwood and Brandon and Cody Wood, as well as his sister Eleanor of Prince George. Ed served 25 years with the Air Force, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Comox, the Jazz Society and the Evergreen Seniors. He loved sports and music, playing guitar for 50 years; and as a curler, played 3 times in the Brier. Ed will be remembered as a good father and grandpa who like to help people however he could. A Service of Remembrance will take place from the Royal Canadian Legion, Courtenay on Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Ray Brandon, officiating. COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD is entrusted with arrangements. Flowers gratefully declined in considerations of donations in Ed’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundaiton, P.O. Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8.
