Dorsey passed peacefully at Campbell River Hospital on Sunday, December 19, 2004. He was predeceased by his son Johnny Clayton; daughter Shirley Pattison; and 9 brothers and sisters. Dorsey is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Melba; son Greg (Susan) of Campbell River; daughter-in-law Carol of Comox; grandchildren: Joanne (Dave), Jill (Phil), Holly (Kyle) and Kyle; great-grandchildren: Tyler and Megan; sister Geneva Baird of Campbell River; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorsey farmed in Alberta until 1948 then moved to the Comox Valley where he was a hand faller at Comox Logging. He
retired from falling in 1973 from Kelsey Bay and then moved
to Campbell River to enjoy salmon fishing and “gardening”. Dorsey boxed professionally from 1930 until 1936.
