Lloyd, Dorothy Joan (Fynn)
Jan 8, 1924 - Oct 11, 2004
Joanie passed away peacefully with her daughter Barb at her side. Her cheerful smile and hearty laugh will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She loved the outdoors and spent many happy years with Girl Guides. Joan and Pete travelled extensively from their home in Nanaimo. They lived in the Comox Valley from 1947 and in Nanaimo from 1975 to the present. She loved her second family at St. Phillips and missed her “pie guys” this fall. Joan was predeceased by her husband Pete and is survived by her twin sister Peggy Laughlin (Frank) and her brother Bob Fynn (Rita). She also leaves her three children David (Julie), Rick (Carolyn), and Barb Lemky; six grandchildren: Brad (Jen), Steve, Eric, Christy, Darren, Brendan; and great granddaughter Rhiannon. The family wishes to express their thanks to all the wonderful caregivers who have kept Mom’s spirits high. Dr. Barbara Weight, Nanaimo Home Care staff who helped her stay in her home as long as possible, staff at Nanaimo Hospital, and especially the staff of Nanaimo Seniors Village (second floor). The family invites you to celebrate her life with them at St. Phillips Anglican Church in Cedar on Friday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joanie’s memory to St. Phillips Memorial Fund, the Cancer Society or B.C. Lung Association would be appreciated.
