In Loving Memory ~

It's with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Dorothy VanHumbeck on Dec 4, 2024, with family at her bedside.

Known mainly as "Dot" to those who knew her, she loved working on her arts & crafts hand making teddy bears and jewelry for several friends and family while also loving outdoor activities like camping, fishing and gardening.

Dot also loved all types of music where she also played the tenor drums for the Courtenay Legion Pipe band. In her spare time, she would groom and trim friend's pet dogs and help her husband fall large trees for customers throughout the Campbell River area.

During her professional career, Dot made and repaired fish nets and worked in a fish processing plant for the fishing industry in Campbell River and worked at a wide variety of jobs throughout her life from iron ore mines in Labrador to driving huge haul trucks in the coal mines of Alberta.

Most of all she loved spending time with her children locally and in Florida; Daughter Joyce, and Sons Ben (Shannon), Mark (Malinda) along with Grandchildren, Ashlee (Adam), Jessica, Taylor, Landon, Elijah, also her stepchildren and grandkids along with her siblings, Ann, Martha, Janet, Norman, Bill and George.

Dot's Family would like to Thank the staff at Glacier view Lodge for taking excellent care of Dorothy over these last few years. Thank you.
