Dorothy Crawford passed away peacefully at home with her family on November 2, 2004 at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her husband Erwin Crawford, her 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Dorothy is survived and will be sadly missed by her son Dr. Norman Crawford (Nan) of Menlo Park, California, her daughters: Mrs. Carol Rogers of Santa Barbara, California and Mrs. Patricia Chalmers (Bob) of Waterford, Ireland, her grandchildren Mark, Kristine (Joel), André, Carrie, Gregory (Torrey) and Allison, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star - Past Worthy Matron of Victoria Chapter #14 of Stettler, AB. and was a member of the Florence Chapter in Courtenay, B.C. She graduated from Calgary Normal School in 1929 and taught in one room schools in Alberta until her marriage in 1932. She taught school in Stettler for 23 years. In 1970 she and her husband retired and moved to Comox, B.C. Dorothy was an avid bridge player, voracious reader and loved gardening and traveling. She was born in Delia, Alberta. Her life was characterized by her love and loyalty to her family and friends, her intellectual curiosity about the world around her and her love of laughter. If friends so wish, donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY, B.C. A memorial tea in celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2004 from 2 — 4 p.m. at Stevenson Place, 1683 Balmoral Avenue, Comox, B.C.
