Doris

BRADY-BROWNE

1928-2003

Born December 24, 1928, died December 11, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Doris was born in Middlelake, Saskatchewan, one of nine siblings.

She was predeceased by three siblings: Walter, Oscar, Millie; survived by five siblings: Eva, Trudy, Henry, Emil, Esther; survived also by her children: Charmaine Gajdzik (Campbell River), Sharon Brady-Browne (Vancouver), Neil Brady-Browne Jr. (Comox), Lois Brady-Browne (Comox) and her grandchildren Dustin and Katrina Gajdzik (Charmaine), T.J. and Taylor Brady-Browne (Lois).

Doris worked at various jobs but her favourite was Home Support Worker. On retirement she left behind with all her clients a legacy of tender care and service above and beyond the job description.

Before a spinal cord injury curtailed her activities she spent many hours volunteering at the Courtenay Food Bank as well as enjoying her hobby as an avid gardener. Her green thumb produced magnificent results on everything she touched, however, her specialty had to be the abundant variety of colourful flowers she grew. Another hobby that gave Doris great pleasure was being a member of the Ocean Waves Round Dance Club.

Memorial Service to be held Friday, December 19, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Elim Church, 566-5th Street, Courtenay. No flowers please. Donations in her memory may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
