In loving memory ~

On Sunday April 14th after a short but ferocious fight against cancer Don Nissen passed away peacefully.

Don was born and raised in Edmonton, until the early 80's when he moved west to the Comox Valley and found his place to call home. He enjoyed the thrill of fast cars, betting on the Edmonton Oilers to win, tinkering on boats, salmon fishing and the art of negotiating a deal.

To all who knew and worked with Don the Drywaller, those who had conversations with him about hockey and other news or have shared stories over beers; we appreciate your loss. Our family finds peace in knowing that his memory will live on in the hearts of many, never has there been a finer man than him.

Predeceased by Father Carl and Mother Dora Nissen, brother Ken Nissen, his loving wife Sharon (Mathieu) Nissen of over 30 years and all his friends and family who left before him.

Don is survived by his daughter Amy (Luc) Deneer, his grand babies Kaitlin and Colton, his stepchildren April Brown, Matt (Monica) Lotocki, Frank (Jana) Lotocki and step grandchildren Olivia and James Brown, Rae Anne (Kalem) Tricker, Kierra and Cameron Lotocki. Don's happiest moments were those share by and spent with his family.

Join family and friends at the Whistle Stop on Saturday May 11th at 1pm to remember him, to smile and laugh at his jokes or share a memory in his honor.

We love you Buddy,

you will be greatly missed
