It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Arthur Stuart Hastings.

Don was born in Comox Valley and spent most of his life in Union Bay. He worked as a General Foreman for over 40 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, serving on Hospital, Community, and Credit Union Boards. He also mentored many young electricians throughout his career.

Don was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia. He leaves behind his three children: his first son, Donald Shane Hastings; his second son, William Cary Hastings; and his only daughter, Verna Mishell Hastings. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Joshua, Daniel, Miranda, Aleisha, Brandon; and great-grandchildren Briella Hastings and Donald the 4th Hudson Hastings.

Don was the best father a child could ever wish for. He encouraged his children to succeed and never spoke a negative word. He enjoyed fishing and golfing, sharing his passion with all of us, which brought so much joy and created many cherished memories. He was also a talented singer, known for his ability to make people laugh and for being the life of any party.

He will be missed dearly. Don lived a good life and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. On his last day, he seemed excited to go, as if he knew he was heading to a better place. We have faith and hope that we will see him again in that MOST AWESOME PLACE.

As per Don's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
