Dennis passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Dennis was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, and grew up loving life on the family farm in the Heart Valley. At 15, he moved to boarding school in Three Hills, Alberta, where he met his future wife. Dennis and Janice were married in 1984 and moved to the Red Deer area for 13 years. Here Dennis cultivated his lifelong passion for audio equipment and pure sound, owning and operating Sounds Fantastic, a popular meeting place for friends and audio enthusiasts. In 1997 he became a father, and moved his family to Campbell River, BC to be closer to extended family. He started a new career as a carpet cleaner and took care to always have time for his family. In 2002, his daughter was born, and his world was complete.

Dennis was a loving husband to Janice, father to Kurtis and Janika, son to Fred, brother to Sandra and Robert (Sutherland), Gordon and Lara (Dustin), and Martha-Ann, brother-in-law to Sharrie (Stauffer) and Wayne Jones and Terry and Teresa (Hansen) Stauffer. He is predeceased by his mother Denise (Trudel) Scriba. He was uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Dennis loved cheering for the Oilers, playing hockey for the Warriors, cooking brunch, deal hunting for audio equipment, helping seniors, the open sky on a clear day and sleeping in on Christmas. He always had a reference to The Simpsons or Seinfeld at the ready, and his phone's background was a picture of Calvin and Hobbes. He often said, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well." He will be remembered for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, generosity and loyal friendship.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 1pm at Eagles Hall.
