In loving memory ~

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Darren, a father, son, brother, and uncle. Darren is survived by his mother Lori, brother Warren (Christina), his precious daughter Camryn, ex-wife/friend Kerry, uncle Rick (Karen), and nieces Nicole and Chloe. Darren was pre-deceased by his father Eric on December 23, 2022.

Darren spent his early years living in Tahsis, B.C., and later moved to the Comox Valley, living between both places, as his dad was in the logging industry. Darren was a happy, loving boy who made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed sports, riding his dirt bike, and boating. Darren was a hard worker and became a proud logger from an early age. At the age of nineteen, Darren was in a car accident where his aunt Dianne passed away and he suffered a brain injury, which affected the rest of his life. The happiest part of Darren's life was when he met his wife Kerry and they had a daughter Camryn, who was the light of his life. In his teenage years, Darren was introduced to alcohol and recreational drugs and then struggled with addiction throughout his life. Despite numerous attempts at recovery, he was not able to find his way and finally succumbed to his addiction at the age of 50.

The family will remember Darren as a loving, kind person, with an incredible sense of humour, knowing he is finally at peace. In lieu of a service, there will be a private family gathering at a later date.
