In Loving Memory ~
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Cliff Piercy - a steadfast, proud lifelong Comox Valley boy who left his mark throughout the community.
Cliff was the last founding member of Piercy Funeral Home - a business started by his grandfather over 70 years ago which made them well known in the community. It was Cliff's work though in volunteerism that left the largest impact throughout the City. From the Heritage Commission to Crimestoppers and other groups in between, he gave back to his community for decades - perhaps most notably as a member of Courtenay Rotary for over 50 years. He's remembered by friends and colleagues as a kind gentleman who was dutiful. and generous.
In retirement, he found joy in his 1930 Model A's and the vintage car community, working in the garden and travelling with his true life partner and wife of 29 years, Susan. It was on their most recent adventure, while in Honduras, that he passed away from a stroke a few days after his 80th birthday.
Along with Susan, Cliff leaves behind his daughter Kim and grandson Tyler, sister Patty, brother Pete and many friends.
It is said that Clifford is a name that means one who is 'honourable in all he does'- for the many who knew him, it is a just description.
All are welcome to attend a Funeral Service to be held (where else?) at Piercy-Mt. Washington Funeral Home on Sunday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m.
A family-only burial ceremony will follow.
