Rogers - Clarence Elmore
January 17, 1924 - August 27, 2002
Passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at the age of 78. Survived by his wife, Mary (Kaumans), his friend, partner and lover of 3 years. Clare is also survived by his son Chris Rogers, Barrhead, Alberta; granddaughters: Dawn Marie (Neil) Branden, Vega, Alberta; Jolene Rogers, Calgary, Alberta, Michelle (Kris) Watt, Claresholm, Alberta; Caleste (Kris) Chayton, Stoney Plain, Alberta. Four beautiful great-grandchildren: Grady and Quetin Branden, Ethan Watt and new little sister Payton. Two sisters: Florence Street, Georgetown, Ont., Eleanor (Geo) Harrison, Elliot Lake, Ont., and two brothers Edwin and Wilfred of Toronto, Ont. Clare served in the Hastings Prince Edwards Regiment from Ontario for two years during the Italian Campaign WWI. After the ware Clare settled in Ontario, then moved to Ireland for a while, then back to Canada. Calgary was his next stop where he worked for several years as salesman for General Steel Wares. During this time he settled in Cochrane, Alberta on a ranch where he boarded horses. Then moved to the Comox Valley over 26 years ago, where he worked at Sears as a salesman, after that opened a used car lot, and then transported cars for car dealers to everywhere in B.C., other provinces, where he met several good friends. After this Clare retired.
An Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 3 from 10-2 p.m. at the family home, #8-417 Heather Court, Comox. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
