Holst, Clifford, Harry “Cliff”
A resident of the extended care unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3rd, 2004, at age 74. Predeceased by his son Richard; his parents John and Minnie; his brothers Raymond, Clarence, Martin and Albert, as well as his sister Irene. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; daughters Sandra Slevin and Heather Lewis; daughter-in-law Denise; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brothers Jake (Millie) Holst, Johnny (Louise) Holst and Harold Holst; sisters Clara McQuillan, Merceda (Albert) Poshen and Anita Becker and many nieces and nephews. Cliff was born on a farm near Kelstern, Saskatchewan on March 18, 1930 and moved with his parents to the Comox Valley in 1934. Among his other positions, he will be remembered for his management work with the Tahsis Company, Canadian Pacific Forest Products. In his leisure, Cliff enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. Special thanks to the Staff at Cumberland Intermediate Care and the Extended Care Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital for their excellent care and kindness. Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 8th at 1:30pm from THE COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD. Followed by fellowship and refreshments in the “Garden Room and Outdoor Patio” of the Funeral Home.
