Born July 12, 1926 in Birmingham, England, Charlie passed away March 22nd, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 78. He was pre-

deceased by his father, mother, and older brother and his son Randy. Charlie leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Rosalee; sons: Jim (Sandra), Donald, David; daughter Edith (Ed); 3 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; and their families. Charlie immigrated to Canada in 1938 to the Fairbridge Farm School in Duncan and then moved to the§Comox Valley in 1941. He worked as a farmhand, logger, miner, and then went on to become a truck driver for Island Freight, CPX and finally retiring after working for C.P. Transport. After he retired, he put in many hours of work for Y.A.N.A. Charlie spent much time on his yard and was very proud of his yard, garden and also enjoyed the many hours he spent splitting wood for his son of which he did many cords. He will be sadly missed by his wife and family.

There will be no service by request. Flowers are gratefully declined; instead the family would ask that donations be made in Charles’ memory to Y.A.N.A., P.O. Box 3159, Courtenay, BC V9N 5N4, (250)334-0511. Cremation arrrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s/Mt. Washington Funeral Home and Crematorium.
