In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles 'Glenn' Frame on June 30, 2023, at RJH in Victoria, B.C. His battle with serious medical issues showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile and a sense of humour. Despite his pain, Glenn came out as the 'super-hero' (as referred to by his family) and stayed strong until the end.
Glenn was born in Cumberland, B.C. on September 30, 1947, to Charles and Kathleen (Crisp) Frame. He lived in Bevan for a few years before the family moved to Ocean Falls, B.C., in 1955. Glenn spent the rest of his childhood and adolescence in Ocean Falls where he met and married his childhood sweetheart, Angela Knowles.
They married in 1967 and soon after moved to Gold River, B.C., where Glenn began his career in the new pulp mill and started a family.
Their son Scott came along in 1969, followed by daughter Shannon in 1971.
Glenn lived an active lifestyle in his younger days playing hockey, basketball, and fastball in Gold River. He was a pitcher/fielder for the famous Marling Loggers fastball team where lifelong friendships were formed.
Glenn loved boating/fishing and many a good time was had at the cabin in Three Bay Cove with family and friends. He enjoyed the trips to Mexico and the most recent trip to Hawaii with the family.
Glenn was a Legion member and a dedicated member of the Gold River Lions Club for a number of years.
He was predeceased by his parents Kay and Chuck Frame, his in-laws Jim and Tilly Knowles and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Angela, son Scott (Bridgett), daughter Shannon (Cliff), grandchildren Cindy (Dave), Chase (Sarah), Taryn (Jesse), and James, great-grandchildren Ethan, Bryce, Nora, Nash, and Jedson.
He is also survived by sister Gloria (Sandy), brothers Danny (Laurie) Robin (Robbin), brothers-in-law Alan, Doug (Sue), Laurence (Pam deceased), Gary, aunts Marguerite and Minnie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Glenn was a kind and loving husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. He will be dearly missed by all of us. Rest in peace - we love you.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Gold River Health Clinic, Campbell River and Royal Jubilee Hospitals for their care and compassion.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Gold River Community Centre.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made to the Gold River Health Clinic and Victoria Hospital Foundation.
