Cecil Leonard Hill

Cecil Leonard Hill passed away suddenly September 9, 2003 in Melfort at the age of 93. Cecil was born on December 2, 1909 on the farm at Silver Park. He moved the family to B.C. in 1956 and returned to Melfort area shortly after the loss of his wife Marie in 1987. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, an avid cribbage player, hunter, and loved to visit with family and friends. He will be greatly and sadly missed by all.

He is survived by four children: Douglas (Marg) Hill of Calgary, AB, Donald (Peggy) Hill of Burns Lake, B.C., Viola (Jack) Quinn of Campbell River, B.C. and Judy (Jacob) Dyck of Carman, MB; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; his sister Maudie (Alan) Bayne of Melfort, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Marie; one daughter Peggy at infancy; his parents George & Isabelle Hill; two brothers Gordon & Nelson; two sisters Viola Hill & Velma Leathem.

The Memorial Service was held from Fedusiak Funeral Chapel, Melfort, SK. on Monday, September 15, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Rob Sweet officiating. Interment followed in the Silver Park Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were The Members of the Royal Canadian Legion. The eulogy was delivered by Joyce Van Camp. The organist was Judith Solsten and the soloist was Lynne Monsees. Memorial contributions may be directed to a Charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were entrusted to Fedusiak Funeral Chapel & Crematorium Ltd. of Melfort, SK. (752-3838)
