Passed away on August 4th, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, after a courageous battle. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Eileen; daughters: Susan Vivian and Catherine (Guy) Katona; two grandsons: Michael Rheault and Daniel Rheault; sister Reta; and niece Vivian. Predeased by his parents Arthur and Elizabeth Vivian.

A career with the R.C.A.F. began in 1941, serving as a Flight Engineer, to 1967. He was a Charter Member of the P-2000 V.P. International Club. He also worked at St. Joseph’s General Hospital for 15 years as executive housekeeper. He was an avid bowler and golfer and spent many happy days birdwatching, gardening, gazing at the stars and enjoying beach trips with his grandsons. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his love of animals and children, and for his caring way. He was a courageous man and a gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the 3rd floor nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital. At Cecil’s request, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to PIERCY’S - MT. WASHINGTON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORIUM.
