Edgett, Carol Jane
June 3, 1947 - January 7, 2005
Of Comox passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, January 7, 2005.
She was predeceased by her father Lloyd Groutage; both sets of grandparents; father-in-law Jim Edgett and brother-in-law Barry Edgett. Carol is survived by her husband Ross; mother Agnes Groutage of Castlegar; daughter Tara Smith (Mark) of Courtenay; brother Wayne Groutage (Sandy) of Castlegar; mother-in-law Isabelle Edgett; brother & sisters-in-law John Edgett (Karen), Phil Edgett (Jean), Shirley Stewart (Dale), Lynda Hornstein (Jack), all of Courtenay; Marijanne Edgett of Pitt Meadows and Philip Minnion of Richmond and nieces and nephews Brian Groutage of Kelowna, Kevin Groutage of Richmond, Jim Edgett of Vancouver, Jamie Edgett of Courtenay, Joanna Edgett of Nova Scotia, Erin Eigler (Dan) of Courtenay, Munro Stewart of Courtenay, Colton Hornstein of Comox and Kelsi Hornstein of Courtenay.
Carol worked for the Bank of Montreal in Vancouver, Powell River and Port Alberni and then as a payroll clerk for J.R. Edgett Excavating of Comox. She was an active member of Courtenay Fish and Game Association and she enjoyed line dancing, clogging, knitting and bowling.
A Celebration of her Life will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. from the Upper Florence Filberg Centre, 411 Anderton Avenue, Courtenay with refreshments to follow. COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, entrusted with arrangements.
Special thanks to Dr. Grant McLean and staff at Victoria Cancer Clinic, the chemotherapy staff and 2nd floor nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, Dr. Doug Anderson and staff of Comox Medical Clinic, Tim Cowan and staff of Comox Medicine Shoppe and the Comox area Home Care Nurses.
