Capt. R. G Partington

November 2, 2004

Partington Capt. R.G. (Bob)

1923 ~ 2004

Born December 6, 1923 in West Vancouver. Died peacefully with his son Carl at his side on November 2, 2004 in Comox, B.C. A loving husband to Thelma for 52 years until her death in August 2002. A wonderful father to their three children: Forrest Partington, Carl (Karen) Partington and Barbara (Michael) Richman. Grandfather to Andrew, Ben, Kaitlin, Samantha, Gregory and Mercedes. Sadly missed by brother Geoffrey and nieces Marjorie Ann and Jocelyn.

Bob was respected by many for his quiet, modest nature and unfailing integrity. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy by volunteering for service at 16 years of age. He served during the Second World War for 7 years on both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He met Thelma in Victoria during the war and they married in 1950. After the war Bob worked for Island Tug & Barge and Seaspan - most of those years as a captain.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, especially R.N.’s Tammy in the E.R. and Juanita on the 2nd floor (orthopedics). Also, Chaplain Brian for your compassion and prayers and to Dr. D. Konway for seeing Mom and Dad through their final years with dignity. God Bless. Arrangements entrusted to Comox Valley Funeral Home and Crematorium, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, BC.
