Born in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Died peacefully at Ocean View Extended Care Unit, St. Joseph’s Hospital, September 8, 2004.
Predeceased by parents Winnifred and Carrol, twin daughter Diane (sister to Robert), brother Gilbert, sisters-in-law Gwen, Marnie and Lynn, and brother -in-law Robert. Will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret Kathleen (Kaye), son Craig (Ann), daughter Shelley (Rod), son Robert (Deirdre), grandchildren Madeleine, Destry, Aidan, Trent and Cole, sister Joan (Cec), brother Roy, sister-in-law Grace, brother-in-law Edward, and many nieces and nephews.
In 1922, he moved with his parents to Saskatchewan and Alberta. From 1940 - 1946, he was in active service with the RCAF and was awarded the RCAF’s Op’s Wings, CVSM and Clasp, 1939 - 45 Star, Burma Star, Air Observer’s Badge, Pacific Star and Clasp. In 1946, joined Trans Canada Airlines (later Air Canada) as a navigator. Retired after 31 years and 28,000 hours of flying time. Also served as President of Canadian Air Line Navigators’ Association and joined the Air Canada Pionairs Association.
Lived in Hudson, Quebec from 1948 - 1996. Built the family home and volunteered in several community organizations and church. Moved with Kaye in 1996 to Courtenay and lived across from Craig and Ann. Continued his love of golf briefly at Sunnydale Golf Club and joined the Comox Valley Pionairs Association.
Always enjoyed golfing, gardening, designing and building, travelling and was a kind and helpful neighbour. He loved a good laugh and enjoyed his family. Bill always had a smile for everyone.

A remembrance of Bill’s life will be held at his home at 2336 Seabank, Courtenay on November 7, 2004 between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.
